The Central Ligand Assay Satellite Services (CLASS) laboratory is a unit of the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Michigan’s School of Public Health. Our purpose is to offer comprehensive support for clinical research projects throughout the entire process of gathering samples, storing them, and coordinating the assay of the desired analytes. Over the past 20 years the CLASS lab has performed more than 1.25 million individual assays, tracked more than a million samples, and produced more than one hundred thousand collection kits. The Healthier Black Elders Center is the community engagement core for the Michigan Center for Urban African American Aging Research (MCUAAAR). The HBEC has been supported by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for over 2 decades. Our goal is to address the health disparities that exist within the Detroit community. We depend on Detroit older adults to participate in our research and help inform our processes.

SRO is leading the data collection for NSAL. SRO has been a key partner in the development of the NSAL and their interviewers will meet with participants to conduct interviews and collect data.
